Blue Line

Blue Line

Blue Line by Valerie J Bower is a zine about a commuter train in Los Angeles that travels through neighborhoods like Long Beach, Lynwood, Compton, South Central LA, and into Downtown Los Angeles. Bower found herself taking this train daily on her way from home to her day job and decided that she would begin making photographs of what she saw out the window, on the train, and at the stops along the way. She also made recordings of random conversations and sound she found herself surrounded by on her journeys which she made into a CD and is included in the zine along with a map of the Blue Line Route. Self-Published, 2015.
